Frequently Asked Questions

Typically snoring is caused by a restriction in the airways. Usually this happens at the back of the tongue but can be due to a cold, blocked nose, or other nose and sinus related issues. Often people that snore are unaware they are doing it and are only made aware by their partner or family members.

The Hushd device works by pushing the lower jaw (the mandible) a little bit forward. This also pushes the soft tissue in the airways forward and subsequently opens the airways enough for air to flow freely, reducing or eliminating snoring. Our temporary Hushd Avera device is a great starting point to see if mandibular advancement therapy works for you before committing to a custom-fitted permanent device.

Permanent customised devices are important for longevity of therapy. Custom, professionally fitted HushdPro devices create a more comfortable experience and are associated with higher treatment compliance. They are precision-made from dental impressions and offer superior retention, comfort, and adjustability compared to boil-and-bite alternatives.
